By enrolling in our courses, you (the student, parent, or guardian) confirm that you have access to and will maintain the necessary technology throughout the course.

Hardware Requirements

  • Computer: A desktop or laptop computer with a modern web browser installed. Tablets or smartphones should not be used; a computer is strongly recommended for the best learning experience.
  • Webcam and Microphone: A working webcam and microphone are required for participating in live coding sessions to facilitate interactive learning and communication with instructors and peers.
  • Speakers or Headphones: To ensure clear audio during live sessions and while viewing recorded content, speakers or headphones are necessary.

Software Requirements

  • Web Browsers: The latest version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge is required for accessing the Kids Learn Coding platform and course materials.
  • Coding Software: Depending on the course, specific coding environments or software such as Scratch, Roblox Studio, or Visual Studio Code may be required. Links to free downloads and installation instructions will be provided.
  • Video Conferencing Tool: Live sessions are conducted via a third-party video conferencing tool (e.g., Zoom). Students will need to download and install the application or ensure web-based access is possible on their device.

Connectivity Requirements

  • Stable Internet Connection: A reliable and stable internet connection is crucial for accessing course materials, participating in live sessions, and submitting assignments. We recommend a minimum broadband connection of 5 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload speed.

Security Requirements

  • Updated Antivirus and Malware Protection: To safeguard students' work and personal information, devices should have up-to-date antivirus and malware protection software installed.

Additional Considerations

  • Storage Space: Ensure your device has adequate storage space for software installation and project development. We recommend at least 5GB of free space.
  • Operating System Compatibility: While most course materials and platforms are accessible across various operating systems, certain software may be specific to Windows or macOS. Please check course-specific requirements.

User Responsibilities

  • Maintenance: You are responsible for maintaining your technology, including keeping software updated and ensuring a stable internet connection.
  • Compliance: You must ensure that your technology meets these requirements throughout the course. Failure to do so may impact your ability to participate fully.

19. Dispute Resolution

At Kids Learn Coding, a service provided by Aygus LLC and accessible via kidslearncoding.org, we strive to deliver a positive and enriching experience for all our users. We recognize that disputes may occasionally arise, and we’ve established the following process to address them effectively and fairly.

Informal Resolution

  • Initial Contact: Before pursuing formal dispute resolution, we encourage you to contact us directly to seek an informal resolution. Many issues can be resolved quickly and amicably by discussing them with our customer support team. Please reach out to them by visiting the contact form on our website.
  • Good Faith Negotiation: Both parties agree to engage in good faith negotiations to resolve any dispute, claim, question, or disagreement through direct consultation. This step is a precondition to initiating a lawsuit or arbitration.

Formal Dispute Resolution

  • Mediation: If informal negotiations fail to resolve the dispute within 30 days, both parties agree to participate in mediation before a neutral mediator. The mediator will be mutually agreed upon, and the goal is to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution. Mediation costs and fees will be shared equally unless otherwise agreed.
  • Arbitration: If mediation does not resolve the dispute within 60 days, the dispute will be settled by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
  • Arbitration Agreement: By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you consent that, except for disputes involving the infringement of Kids Learn Coding’s intellectual property rights or those of its licensors, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or related to these Terms—including their breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation, or validity—will be resolved through arbitration. This includes disputes about the scope or applicability of this arbitration agreement.
  • Waiver of Jury Trial: Both parties waive their constitutional and statutory rights to a court trial before a judge or jury, opting instead for arbitration to resolve disputes.

Limitations on Claims

Any cause of action or claim related to these Terms of Service or Kids Learn Coding’s services must be filed within two (2) years after the cause of action arises; otherwise, it is permanently barred.

Class Action Waiver

You and Kids Learn Coding agree that dispute resolution proceedings will occur only on an individual basis, not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Severability

If any part of this Dispute Resolution section is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

By using Kids Learn Coding’s services, you agree to the terms outlined in this Dispute Resolution section.
